Chris reached out to me for help with developing a website for his life coaching business. He was working on expanding his business’s web presence, and was ready to expand from social media to his own website. He wanted a place to direct potential customers to learn more about his services, as well as a targeted marketing website to convert visitors from around the web into new customers.
Chris knew he wanted something simple and friendly that he’d be able to add to on his own. He wanted his website to communicate the tone of his coaching in addition to providing information about working with him.
The Process
I started by working with Chris to determine some websites he liked, then pinpointing what made them special to him. We worked together to assemble a strategy for design of the site based on his branding goals.
I designed some logos and other graphics that captured the spirit of Chris’s coaching style, then customized a simple theme framework to match his brand. I kept the design light, welcoming, and authentic to Chris’s personality as a coach.
I worked in some of photos of Chris and his coaching office so his clients could get to know him just by browsing the site. I placed testimonials from his past clients throughout the site so prospective clients would hear early and often about the experience of working with him. Then, I made sure it was easy to get in touch. I kept the functionality of the site simple with the potential for expansion later.
When the website was ready, I met with Chris three times for training sessions to get him up and running on maintaining the site. Since then, he’s been updating and revising the site entirely on his own.
